Mark Foster is lead physician of Hudson Valley Primary Care, a private practice he began in 1988 in Wappingers Falls, NY. Over the years he has expanded his practice to include one additional primary care physician and two certified nurse practitioners. Under his guidance, and with the engagement of the entire office staff, the practice achieved NCQA Level 3 patient-centered medical home recognition in 2009.
Foster earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Fordham University, his master’s degree in immunology from Hahnemann University, and his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his training and residency at Tufts/Bayside Medical Center where he was chief resident from 1987 to 1988. He is board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics.
Foster currently serves as the vice president of medical staff at Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is the former president of the Dutchess County Medical Society, and former chairman of the board of Taconic IPA. He has been active in health information technology initiatives, serving as one of the founding members of the THINC board, and is currently chairman of the THINC board of directors.
